Remember the old Toyota commercials back in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s that ended “Who could ask for anything more”?

Last weekend, my grandson mentioned the amount of taxes taken out of his earnings. He commented that he didn’t like paying so much in taxes. His mother responded, “Welcome to the adult world.” Overhearing this, I thought there are likely many things we don’t particularly enjoy about being responsible adults.

There are a lot of old flying adages. Two come to mind: “The air and the sea aren’t inherently dangerous, but are terribly unforgiving of careless mistakes.”

Another – “You absolutely do not ever have to get anywhere in an airplane.”

Discussions of bills, budgets, and barber shop choirs echoed in the Capitol as we concluded the fourth week of the 2020 Regular Session.  While legislation continued to move steadily through the Senate over the course of the week, we were welcomed by a variety of talented constituents in the chamber.

I’ve often wondered how people who have followings on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram have time to make all the videos they create on a daily, and sometimes hourly, basis.  More importantly, I’ve wondered how they make a living.  They can’t have actual jobs, I’ve reasoned, because there aren’t enough hours in the day.  My daughter, Nikki, answered these questions for me while I was visiting her a couple o

            Parents are concerned about their children and the “peer pressure” they face at school; when they’re on “social media,” etc. Our young people can be swayed to do things out of character for them. Sometimes this happens because they are with a group of peers urging them in the activity. At times, it’s because a close friend, a boyfriend/girlfriend, or a spouse, urges them.

Sunday January 26, 2020 started out a pretty regular day: get up, eat breakfast, go to church, come back and eat lunch.  It was normal.  After lunch, I got an alert on my phone saying Kobe Bryant had been killed in a helicopter crash.
