Don Harrison Smith

Don Harrison Smith, 70, of Morgantown, Kentucky, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on a Saturday afternoon, September 4, 2021. He was born in Macon County, Tennessee, and was the son of John Henry Smith and Elsie Pauline Dawes Smith. He married, Joan Rhee Southerland on May 22, 1982. They raised their two daughters in Morgantown, Kentucky. Don was a heavy equipment operator for many years. He taught himself to play the guitar and loved to play and sing for his family.

Aleta Ann Clark

Aleta Ann Clark, 75 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Aleta was born Tuesday, April 23, 1946 in Butler County, KY to the late Glen and Florence Ellis White. She was a member of Morgantown First Baptist Church and a homemaker. Aleta loved horse's, painting, baseball, watching her children and grandchildren play sports and spending time with her family and friends. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one brother Tommy White.

Dianna Gilbert 50, best known as Di and Tia Di entered into the arms of Jesus on September 6, 2021, surrounded by her husband and Family. She worked as a bus monitor for the Jackson Madison county schools. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of Scotts Hill. She loved crocheting, reading, and collecting knives. She enjoyed playing the drums and singing to the Lord.

Tinsley Grace Phelps

Tinsley Grace Phelps, precious infant daughter of Kevin and Holly Harris Phelps of Morgantown was born and entered the arms of Jesus on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents David Embry and Glen Harris.

Tinsley is survived by her parents Kevin and Holly Harris Phelps; sister Paisley Phelps; grandparents Todd and Deeana Phelps and Barry and Melissa Harris; great grandparents Janice Embry, Wanda Embry, Don and Cleatie Hughes and Sue Harris.

James “Jimmy” Leon Thompson, Sr., 75, of Morgantown, Ky., met his Lord and Savior face to face on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by family.  He was born April 23, 1946, in Dunmor, KY to the late J.C.

Gennita Mae Burden

Gennita Mae Burden, 88 of Morgantown, Kentucky went to be with the Lord Monday, August 30, 2021, at her residence. Gennita was born on Sunday, May 21, 1933, in Olaton, Kentucky to the late Herman and Bonnie Bratcher Burden. Upon returning from military service, Delmer Tracy Burden united in marriage with Gennita on December 24, 1948. They were soon blessed with a son, Larry. Life's path guided them to Louisville, Kentucky by way of Heyworth, Illinois.

Naomi B. Link, 89 of Bowling Green, KY passed away Saturday August 28, 2021 at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. Naomi was born on Wednesday, June 15, 1932 in the Leonard Oak Community of Butler County to the late Albert and Elma Jane Sublett West. She was a member of the Leonard Oak General Baptist Church and Nashville Song Writers Association. Naomi was a school teacher in a one room school house for many years and a homemaker. She was a distinguished song writer and wrote many beautiful poems.

Roscoe Glenn Bratcher

Roscoe Glenn Bratcher, age 76, of Cromwell, Ky., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  He was born in Cromwell, Ky. on March 24, 1945 to the late Roscoe and Vernie Snodgrass Bratcher.  Glenn was a laborer at TVA, retired from the United States Air Force, and was a Vietnam Veteran.  He was a member of the Kokasi Masonic Lodge #15 and a Shriner.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Lynette Bratcher; an infant brother and brother-in-law C.T. O’Neal.

Lonis "Myrl" Coleman Burden

Lonis “Myrl” Coleman Burden, age 90, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, In. She was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Feb. 14, 1931 to the late Estill and Maudie Cardwell Coleman.  She taught school after attending Western Kentucky University for 2 years. Myrl worked at GE, was a homemaker, and then a cook at Butler Co. High School. Myrl was a member of Barnett’s Lick Baptist Church for more than 70 years.

Opal E. Cannon Cherry, 89 of Bowling Green, KY passed away Thursday August 26, 2021 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Opal was born Friday June 24, 1932 in Butler County, KY to the late William S. "Bill" Brown and Nora Beliles Russ and wife of the late Harold Cannon and Otha Cherry. She was a member of First Apostolic Church in Bowling Green, KY, she retired from Community Action and a homemaker.
