The elders at Morgantown Care and Rehab received a special Valentine surprise. In conjunction with the local Family Dollar Store, over 100 Valentine balloons were purchased for the elders.

During winter, we take measures to protect ourselves from the cold, like wearing extra clothes or staying inside more. Some insects take similar precautions to survive.

Wintertime can be business as usual for insects like termites that live inside structures such as rotting logs or other environments that shield them from freezing temperatures. These insects may slow some, but they remain active. 

Utilize the economic decision-making and marketing tools provided in this 3-part series taught by University of Kentucky Specialists via Zoom.  All programs will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7 p.m.  Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with specialists during each session.

Friends of Butler County Animals (FOBCA) is the organization that now runs the Butler County Animal Shelter. The organization was formed on October 10, 2018.

Many people work their entire lives to purchase a farm and develop a farming operation, but it dissolves upon their passing because of a lack of planning and communication.  The agents of the UK Cooperative Extension Service have developed a program to help families plan for transitioning both management and ownership of their farming operation.  The program is divided into 3 one hour sessions delivered via Zoom.

If the thought of facing a long winter without straight-from-the-garden freshness makes you sad, weep no more. It’s easy as tomato pie to grow your own produce indoors.

There are a number of indoor gardening systems on the market today. They range in price and require anything from 2 square feet in space all the way to a multi-tiered 5-feet wide rack of shelving and grow lights. But if you don’t have the money or space to invest in one of these systems, don’t worry. There’s plenty you can do without them.
