Five Generations on the front porch of 100 year old home

Brennan Smith in the arms of his mother, Heather Martin Smith, who stands beside her mother, Charolette Cardwell Martin, beside her father, Howard Cardwell, behind his mother, Loretta Howard Cardwell, seated.   Loretta Cardwell was the wife of Rev. James Cardwell and they parented six (6) sons at the home place on Possum Hollow Road in Butler County.

Belmont Christian Academy's Fall Festival

Belmont Christian Academy held their Fall Festival on Thursday at the school.  First, the students were treated to  a free lunch then students from preschool to high school entertained the crowd.  They went through several of their morning songs complete with interpretations.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary Promotes “Buddy Poppy Good Citizen”

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5837 Ladies Auxiliary in conjunction with Ms Linda Tyree will again visit the Butler County 4th and 5th grade classes during the month of September promoting the Buddy Poppy Good Citizen program.

Last year, Ms Lois Russ and Ms Jane Eaton-Henderson spoke to them about the “Buddy Poppy” and each student was given a Buddy Poppy a pamphlet on the Buddy Poppy and a requirements list. Ms Linda Tyree explained the requirements, and if chosen, what they would win.
