Pesticide Trainings Offered for Butler County Farmers

Anyone applying pesticides to their farm needs to be a certified private pesticide applicator.  You may become a certified private applicator or be recertified by attending one of three upcoming trainings offered free of charge at the Butler County Extension Office.  The trainings are on the following dates and times:

February is National Pet Dental Health Month

To address the significance of oral health care for pets, the AVMA and several veterinary groups are sponsoring National Pet Dental Health Month in February.

Curious George Fun Day

Curious George Fun Day was a one day program held at Butler County High School. Second and third graders were invited to attend and experience a day of fun and reading. The children received a t-shirt and the book Curious George Takes a Job Throughout the day children had the opportunity to paint, decorate cookies, make skits, watch a Curious George film and have free play time. The children were also served breakfast and lunch. FCCLA members Allison Kurfiss, Bailey Hunt and Rachel Johnson coordinated the event.

Four generations of Hutcheson men got together last summer for a family photo.  It was taken in July at Toy Springs Farm at Quality when Marine son Brian and his family were in for a visit.

Teens At the Club

Starting Monday, January 27th at 7:15 pm the Boys and Girls Club will be starting a new program, “Boys Night at the Club.”  This is for boys in middle and high school.  This program is free and will be held on Monday and Thursday nights for six weeks.  Activities include basketball, music, and a thirty minute Smart Teens Class.  A good meal will be provided.  Applic

Project Prom Needs Your Help

Friday, February 7th is a busy day at BCHS. BCHS will host Edmonson Co for double header district games. It is Homecoming and Pink Out night as well. The Project Prom Committee is also having a Silent Auction Bake Sale beginning at 6pm and concluding at the end of half time of the second game. Suggested items include cake, pie, batch of cookies, candies, breads, etc. Items need to be packaged or covered, but visible if possible. Items can be brought to the BCHS front office during school hours or to the gym entrance at 5:30pm.
