Soil Tests Prevent Over-Fertilizing

With input costs remaining high, farmers are looking for ways to make their money go further. Testing soil from fields now can prevent over fertilizing in the spring and potentially save money on input costs, said soil specialists with the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture.

70th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

Head Start Accepting Applications

Butler County Head Start has begun taking applications for enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year.  Head Start is a federally funded child development preschool program serving three and four year old children from primarily income-eligible families.  You may apply if your child will be at least 3 years old before October 1st or upon the child's birthday if his birthday is after October 1 and if your family's income falls within established poverty guidelines.  Days that have been set aside to take applications are March

Celebrate the Arrival of Jace Michael Tyree

Community rallying to help Tyrees

Josh Tyree, a BCHS graduate, has been dealing with serious health issues over the past several months.  He is currently in medical school, as well as he and his wife, Chelsey, are expecting a son in the next few weeks.  Josh continues to battle a serious building of pressure on his brain, and has had several surgeries and  made repeat trips to Duke University Hospital where many doctors are involved in researching his case to find answers.  In addition, Josh's parents are Ronnie and Linda Tyree, employees in the Butler County School District, and they have been with Josh and Chelsey during
