Rich qualified for the National Geographic Society's KY Geographic Bee

BCMS Principal Robert Tuck, Alex Rich, and Rebecca Mudd, BCMS Teacher

Alex Rich, 7th-grade BCMS student and son of Cathy and Don Rich, has qualified for the National Geographic Society's 2014 Kentucky Geographic Bee to be held Friday, April 4 at the Carroll Knicely Center on WKU's South Campus.  Alex will compete with 99 other Kentucky middle-level school champions for a $100 prize, the "Complete National Geographic on DVD", and a trip to Washington, D.C. to represent the Commonwealth in the National Geographic Bee finals, May 19-21.

Class of 1964 Fiftieth Reunion Planning Session

The Class of 1964 will meet Saturday March 22 at Morgantown City Hall (Lobby or Upstairs) at 1:00 P.M. to begin planning our 50th reunion for August 30 Labor Day Weekend. Please bring or send your Ideas to this meeting. We need a good turn out, so come reminiscence in the former Butler County Drug Store that many of us stopped by from time to time 50 years ago. Parent University and Health Fair

Juniors and Seniors at BCHS...Bring your parents out to the PARENT UNIVERSITY and HEALTH FAIR tomorrow night (Thursday March 13th) 3:30-6:30 at the BCHS Library Media Center

You will learn what you need to do for financial aid, how to begin college entrance applications and admissions, what classes are DUAL credit, a work placement program called WIA. A health fair will be going on at the same time. Representatives will be there from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green Tech, ROTC and Mid Continent University. Counselors and Adult Education representatives will be on hand.

5k Leprechaun Run/Walk

The 5k Leprechaun Run/Walk will take place on Sautrday, March 15th, beginning at Butler County Middle School. Registration will be at 7:45, Run/Walk begins at 9 a.m., with awards ceremony at approximately 10:15.

Entry fee is $10 for students K-12, $12 for adults, and $30 for a family (1 or 2 adults plus children). Awards will be given to overall male and female winners, and in age divisions.

A Gift for Great-Grandma

Devin, Sarah, Brian Smith and Luella Deweese

It was a special Butler County connection that brought a Colorado Springs, Colorado couple to Morgantown Thursday morning to be married. Brian Lane Smith, fiancée Sarah Yeagley and her son Devin chose the lobby of Morgantown Care and Rehab so Brian’s grandmother, Mary Woosley and great-grandmother, Luella Deweese, could attend. Luella is a resident of the facility.
