 On Saturday, October 8^th a benefit was held by White Ridge Church to help pay the medical and funeral expenses of Inis Marie Swift.  The day also marked Buddy and Inis’ wedding anniversary.  The event had been planned weeks before in advance in an effort to help pay medical bills.   Their anniversary had been picked as the date because it was to be a fun occasion. 

This weekend marked the first Aberdeen Trading Days and the event went well according to organizers. 
"We had around 40 vendors set up around Aberdeen Trading Post this weekend," said Joyce Brooks.  "This will be an annual event if not more often."
Several others in the community also had yard sales and deals of all kinds.  The event brought several people across the bridge. 

The annual Provo Cruise-in is an October event that many always anticipate.  Good friends, cool classic vehicles, food, games, door prizes, and, if fortunate enough, beautiful weather.  Provo was certainly lucky enough for all of that on Saturday, October 8.

The American Legion Post 151 wanted to remind all veterans whom have served in the US Armed Forces to file their DD-214 with the County Clerk's office. Upon your death, every Veteran is entitled to a US FLAG and VA MARKER. During the time of Loss of a Veteran, it is comforting to the family to know that your Military Record is on file and can be obtained when needed. 

Please join us in celebrating the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Ray and Sharon Gilliland on October 8, 2016, from 1-3:00pm  at Hazel Creek Baptist Church in Greenville, KY.  Bro. As well known for our music as Aberdeen Baptist Church may be, those well acquainted with our church also credit us for maintaining the integrity of our LORD’s Great Commission by calling and supporting pastors who preach His Word in spirit and truth. Aberdeen’s current pastor further proves our congregation’s commitment to such preaching.  And it is our desire to honor his twenty years shepherding our flock with a Sunday Worship Service and Reception in honor of Bro. Roger Taylor and Miriam.

People interested in keeping honeybees have the opportunity to participate in a short-course that will help them learn to be a beekeeper.

Participants attending the 2016 Kentucky Grazing Conference will learn new and innovative ways to think about their pastures and improve their operation.

The conference is from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. EDT Oct. 19 at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset.  It is sponsored by the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Kentucky Forage and Grassland Council.
