MES Red Ribbon Week October 24-28

Morgantown Elementary students will join the country in celebrating Red Ribbon Week October 24-28.  Red Ribbon Week is a campaign to create a drug-free community, and MES will be having a different theme each day.  On Friday, October 28th, at 8:00 A.M.

Toys for Tots Raffle

Butler County Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Club is raffling a toy tractor, toy truck, and a country ham. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 or a special deal of 18 tickets for $20.00. All proceeds goes to Toys for Tots in Butler County.

Morgantown Community Church Fall Festival

Everyone is invited to Morgantown Community Church for FALL FESTIVAL on Saturday, October 29th, 2016!  Bring your pretty princesses and scary monsters to Trunk or Treat and grab some goodies.  If your costume is worthy, you may even win a prize!

But the fun doesn't stop there!  Try your hand at our games and crafts.  Maybe you will be able to show your strength by how far you can toss a large pumpkin!  Get your face painted, satisfy your sweet tooth at the cupcake walk, and stop by the bouncy house too.  Make sure to take advantage of our Fall Photos!

Bro. Curtis McGehee in Revival at First Baptist Church

Bro. Curtis McGehee

Bro. Curtis McGehee will be in revival at First Baptist Church October 16-19th.  McGehee presently serves as Muhlenberg County Sheriff and has served in this capacity for six years. He is also involved in itinerant ministry and does pulpit supply for churches on a weekly basis. He began ministry in 1986 and for more than thirty years has shared God's message of love and salvation.
McGehee has pastored four churches and has served as a full-time Southern Baptist Evangelist. He and his wife are members of Second Baptist Church in Greenville.

Everybody Loves Smoothies!!!

MES 1st grader Denzil Burden and MES kindergarten Nevaeh O’Neal enjoying smoothies on kickoff day.

Thanks to a grant from the National Dairy Council, NFL, and the USDA, Butler County students are now receiving smoothies as part of a nutritious breakfast. The Butler County School Nutrition Program received $13,792 towards funding a district-wide smoothie program that allowed the purchase of immersion blenders, breakfast carts, portable tablets for processing meals and other items needed to make the program successful.

Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner

The Butler County Republican Party will he hosting a Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner Friday October 28 at 6:00. It will be held at the Eva Hawes Agriculture Building. Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles will be the keynote speaker for the night with State Treasurer Allison Ball speaking as well. Representative Jim DeCesare and State Senator CB Embry will also be attending! Tickets will be $20.00 and this will include a catered meal through Green River Catering! If you are interested in buying a ticket, come by Bratcher's Auto Parts or contact the following people.
