The Butler County Child Development classes will conduct a Playschool for preschool children.  The days will be Tuesdays for 2 ½ and 3 year-olds, Wednesdays for 4 year-olds and Fridays for 5 year-olds; however, we are willing to work with parents on scheduling.  Children who are presently enrolled in kindergarten are not eligible to attend.  All children must be potty-trained.

This is the opportunity for middle and high school youth to experience the joy, thrill and magic of flight.  Learn the principles of flight, the basics of navigation. Learn about lift, thrust, gravity and drag. Plan and conduct a flight. Log your first flight with a Certified Flight Instructor. All this and more at the 4-H Aerospace Day Camp.

Don’t let the maintenance of your tractor go by the wayside when you get busy. There’s a tendency to put maintenance on the back burner as spring and summer field activities get into full swing. Often when we do think about maintenance, it is the implement we think about, and we ignore the tractor.

Saturday, February 25th was the 2nd annual Rochester chili cookoff to benefit the Rochester Fire Department.  The Rochester Community Building was filled with community members ready to eat some chili.  And there was plenty from which to choose! Lisa Southerland’s white chicken chili won first prize.

Did you know… More than 6 million children live with at least one parent who abuses or dependent on alcohol.

What should we do?
•    Ask your child question about everything.
•    Set clear rules about drinking.
•    Talk about the consequences if they do drinking.
•    Be consistent.
•    Get to know your child’s friends and their parents.
•    Be straightforward.
•    Don’t be naïve.

The Butler County Republican Party will be meeting March 4 at 10:00 am at the County Clerk's Office. Please come out and help elect precinct officers and get involved in the Butler County Republican Party!

The Democratic Party of Butler County will be hosting a meeting to reactivate the county party, as well as the Young Democrats and Democratic Woman's Club divisions, on Saturday, March 4th, 2017, 11:00am, at the Butler County Courthouse.  Anyone interested in becoming active in our local, state or national Democratic Party is encouraged to attend!
