Butler County 4-H Teens Recognized at Mammoth Cave Area Banquet

On Tuesday, November 28, six teens from the Butler County 4-H Teen Club were recognized for their achievements throughout the year. This annual banquet showcases 4-Hers’ achievements throughout the Mammoth Cave Area. In addition to the awards, there was also a delicious meal catered by Green River Catering of Morgantown.
 
The emcees for the evening were 4-Hers Bree Russell from Metcalfe County, Luke Jacobs from Butler County, and Luke Carter from Hart County.

Jarrod M.Carathers performs at Kentucky Farm Bureau Variety Showcase

Louisville, KY (December 1, 2017) – Butler County’s Jarrod Carathers performed before a live audience during the November 30 general session of  Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 98th annual meeting in Louisville. Winner of both the Butler County and District 3 preliminary contests, Carathers was one of 11 acts invited to perform at the state Variety Showcase.

The Butler County Chapter NSDAR is pleased to include the Salem Baptist Church in their Christmas Tour this year. When you visit the Matthew and Kathy Hampton home in the Logansport community be sure to stop at the church for their open house from 1-4:00 PM on Sunday, December 3 for a tour and fellowship.

Don Elmore refurbishes American Flag Box as community project

Boy Scout Don Elmore

Boy Scout Don Elmore, of Troop 208, unveiled the American Flag Retirement Box on Saturday, November 18th at the Morgantown Mission building. The box, purchased by the VFW Auxiliary Post 5837, was refurbished by Elmore as a community project.

Butler County Chapter NSDAR Sponsors Holiday Events

The holiday season is upon us and the Butler County Chapter NSDAR has a variety of activities to make it more festive. The 10th annual Festival of Trees opens to the public on Saturday, December 2 at 10 AM in their new location, the Butler County Community Development Center #4, the old mall building. The festival will run from December 2-9, from 10-5 each day except Sunday from 1-5 with trees and wreaths on display from local businesses, family memorials, churches and community organizations.
