Our annual “Butler County Salutes our Veterans” program is Friday, November 10^th at 9:00 a.m. at BCHS.  There will be a reception to follow in the BCHS media center.  This year’s keynote speaker is CW2 (Retired) Robert Hill.  Everyone is invited!!

The Butler County Stockman’s Association invites Butler County farmers to participate in its annual Forage Quality Contest.  The contest is held each year to encourage farmers to have their hay tested and to take steps to improve the quality of the livestock feed they produce.  Samples will be pulled by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture on November 13th, 2017.  The KDA has a forage quality lab in Frankfort that analyzes forage samples for the entire state.  There are 3 classes in the contest.  Farmers can compete in grass, grass-legume or legume, and baleage divisions.  Cash prizes are

Danya Moore spoke on "Connecting Ministries," a Christian program through Owensboro First Baptist Church.  Danya shared this ministry with the members of the Clara Lee Circle of Morgantown First Baptist Church.  A large group of Circle members and visitors were in attendance.

Butler County High School celebrated Homecoming 2017 on Friday night.  Miss Olivia Jones was crowned Homecoming Queen.  She is the daughter of Marty and Haley Jones of Morgantown. Mr. Austin West was crowned Homecoming King.  He is the son of Cecil and Faye West of Morgantown.

Back With Vengeance-This story is hard for me to write because I know Cindy Cardwell personally. We are very close friends, and I won't lie when I say tears flowed down my face while writing her story. Her tears flowed freely, and her voice shook while she filled me in on the details of her journey. Even though I knew most of it already, just hearing it out loud was extremely heart wrenching. Cindy asked me to share her journey, hoping that her story will encourage others that are having to battle this dreaded demon named cancer.
