To conclude the Butler County Cross-Country season, a banquet was held on Thursday, December 8th at Butler County High School to honor this years' athletes.

BCMS 7th & 8th Grade Boys Knock off Edmonson County

It wasn't pretty, but they got the job done.  That just about sums up this weeks' basketball action for the BCMS boy's basketball team.  The Bears only match up this week was at home against Edmonson County.  This wasn't the first time these two teams had met this season.  Butler County traveled to Edmonson County early in November for their season opener.  At their first meeting, the Bears handily won both games beating their 7th grade team by 17 points and their 8th grade team by 34, but that wasn't quite the case this time around.  The 7th grade team was slow out of the gate offensively

Bears Fall to Raiders in Out-of-Region Contest

The Butler County Bears traveled up the Natcher Parkway on Tuesday night to Bowling Green to take on the Blue Raiders of Warren East High School. The Raiders are yet another team that Coach Greg Woodcock added to the schedule this season to test his Bears against tougher competition. The Raiders have a high speed, up and down the floor attack this season and feel like they have a chance to compete with Warren Central and Bowling Green High for a possible shot at going to the 4th Region Tournament.

Oak Ridge Lady Warriors

The Oak Ridge Lady Warriors continue their winning streak this past Thursday beating North Hardin 18-16.  Taylor Harris and DeeDee Bratcher both had 6 points and Cortney Jo Williams and Hannah Burden with 3 each. Coach Joe Williams and and assistant coach Scott Burden are very proud of their team as they hold on to their undefeated record!

BC Bears 48 Panthers 58

Trevor Jenkins rebounds.

The Butler County Bears returned home on Saturday night to take on the visiting Panthers of Russellville High School. Both teams came into the game winless on the young season and were hungry to grab a victory. The home crowd was treated to an entertaining game which saw four ties and five lead changes.

Lady Bears & Bears Fall to Grayson

The Bears and Lady Bears headed into hostile territory on Friday night to open district play against Grayson County High School in Leitchfield. In the first game the Lady Bears faced the Lady Cougars. The Lady Cougars are expected to contend for the 3rd Region Championship this season, and features a lineup loaded with upperclassmen, including six seniors.

BCMS Bears: 7th Grade 9-1, 8th Grade 7-3

After a little time off for celebrating Thanksgiving, BCMS Bear's Basketball was back in full swing this week with three games, one at home and two away. The Bears started the week with a home game against McLean County.  On Tuesday, they hit the road for an away game at Muhlenberg South.  The Bears 8th grade team was looking for some revenge in this one after a hard fought loss just the week before to the Suns.   The Bears rounded out the week with a trip to Ohio County to face the Eagles on Thursday night.

Bears Battle Eagles In Season Opener

The Butler County Bears opened their 20011-12 basketball season on Tuesday night in Morgantown. They were facing Owensboro Apollo High School, one of the teams coach Greg Woodcock added to the schedule for this season to test his young team against a better caliber opponent. Apollo returns three seniors with starting experience from last year with a mix of size and strength down low and the ability to shoot from the outside. Lady Bears Fall to Hancock County

The 2011-12 edition of the Butler County Lady Bears debuted on Monday in Morgantown before a sparse crowd. The opening night opponent for the Bears was the Lady Hornets from Hancock County. Hancock came in to the game looking to avenge a season-opening home loss to the Lady Bears a year ago. The Lady Hornets have only one senior and return all five starters from a team that went 13-14 a year ago.
