Fields receives Scholastic Achievement Award
Sierra Fields, a senior at BCHS was recently awarded the Girls Scholastic Achievement Award during the Kentucky Tennis Association's (KTA) annual banquet. The banquet gives out state award winners and also serves as the KTA's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Awards handed out include "Junior Player of the Year", "Adult Player of the Year", "Facility of the Year", "Coach of the Year", among others. Sierra and other award winners will also receive recognition in the KTA's annual yearbook.
Award winners are decided by the KTA from a pool of nominations which are submitted every fall. Sierra was a Governor's Scholar this past summer at Murray State University and holds a 4.0 GPA. Aside from the KTA award, Sierra is also BCHS's 2013 Girls High School Heisman winner. She is a six year member of the girls varsity tennis team and a four year varsity cheerleader.
Sierra is the second local student-athlete to win a KTA state award. In 2007, Geoffrey Wallace won the Boys Scholastic Achievement Award.
