A former Butler County High School baseball standout will be honored on February 5th before the Bears basketball game with Hart County. Keith Butler, a relief pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, will have his number retired at that game. Butler is currently playing winter baseball in the Dominican Republic and is preparing for spring training with the Cardinals beginning next month. In November the Cardinals promoted Butler to their 45-man roster. Movement to the 45-man roster usually signals a player will be promoted to either the Cardinals triple-A affiliate or will join the Cardinals for the upcoming season.
