BCHS Lady Bears soccer to hold open practice sessions

The BCHS Lady Bears Soccer team will be holding open practice sessions at the City Park on July 10th, 12th, and 13th at 6 pm each evening. Interested high school girls just need to wear comfortable clothes--t-shirt and shorts, and a good pair of sneakers if they don't have cleats. These are the ONLY DAYS that we can allow walk-ons--there is no commitment or pressure--we just want to give students a chance to see if soccer is something fun that they would like to be involved in. This program is growing--and it's okay if you have never played before!

KY Afield Outdoors: Establish small plots of clover to improve deer and turkey hunting

Summer is an excellent time to plant a patch of clover on your property for deer to use this fall. Secluded wood openings make productive places to plant a clover plot.

Establishing small plots of clover throughout your hunting area can pay big dividends during deer and wild turkey seasons. Summer is a good time to start preparations for an initial planting in the fall.
“If managed correctly, stands of clover can last for three to five years without re-seeding,” said Chris Grasch, a private lands biologist who works in the Bluegrass Region for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. “Plots can be as small as ¼- to ½-acre in size and should be located where there’s full sun at least part of the day.”
