The Butler County Bears (5-3, 2-2) will make the familiar trip to Lewisport on Friday night to take on the Hancock County Hornets (2-6, 2-2) in a game that will determine the #3 seed in Class 2A, District 2. 

"It's where we want to be and it puts us on the path through the playoffs that we feel will give us the best chance to move on," said Butler County Coach Ryan Emmick.  "It is imperative that we come out in the right frame of mind and attack from the first whistle to the last."

According to Emmick, a Hancock County native, the Bears will have to dispatch a tough Hornet team on their own field.  

"They are very well coached and are a hard-nosed physical team," said Emmick.  "They are led by #8 Beau Case and #44 Trevor Garrison.  #12  Kort Morris is a very good quarterback who we must contain when he scrambles."

Hancock will vary between the Wing-T and Spread offensive formations, according to Emmick.  "They like to get the ball into Case’s hands several different ways.  Garrison is a hard runner.  We must be ready for their various formations and make adjustments to them," added Emmick. 

The ability to adapt and recognize changing defenses will be important for Butler County. 

"Defensively they are a traditional 3-4 cover 2 team but have showed 4-4 and 3-3 stack on film.  We must recognize their fronts and execute our blocking schemes as they change defenses.  Our passing game must stretch them and force them to cover us in order to open up the run," said Emmick.

Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.  The game will be live on WLBQ 1570 AM and streamed on www.beechtreenews.com.  Mark Allen and John Embry will be working the game.
