"Sean's Shield" presented to Sheriff's Department in memory of Sean Wilson

Sean Wilson, age 50, of Provo, passed away Friday, December 24, due to complications with Covid. He was a Monticello Missionary Baptist Church member, United States Navy Veteran serving in Operation Desert Storm.  He was a 1990 Butler County High School graduate. Sean was a member of the Granville Allen VFW Post 5837 in Morgantown, KY, and Bowling Green VFW Post 1298.

His parents, Milton and Carolyn, wanted to do something in Sean's memory. So, after talking with Butler County Sheriff Scottie Ward, the Wilsons purchased a ballistic shield for the department.

According to Ward, the shield is invaluable when dealing with an active shooter.

Joey Givens provided the lettering for the shield.

"We want to thank the Wilsons for their generosity and support of our department," said Ward.

Sean was an avid supporter of law enforcement.
