Natcher Parkway crash sends two to hospital

A single-car crash on July 25 sent two individuals to the hospital with serious injuries.  The incident took place on the William Natcher Parkway (around mile marker 21) at approximately 5:29 p.m.

Heather Daugherty, 40, was traveling south in a 2001 Chevrolet pickup when she apparently dropped her cell phone, reach down to retrieve it, and then lost control of the vehicle as the tires on the left side left the roadway.  According to the police report, Daugherty then overcorrected the vehicle, causing it to spin and ultimately hit a guard rail and become airborne.  Both Daugherty and Barry Wilson, a passenger in the vehicle and Daugherty’s father, were ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Department responded to the accident and Deputy Ronald Cox is the investigating officer.  Butler County EMS provided first aid at the scene to both Daugherty and Wilson.  Both were transported by helicopter to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.  Wilson has been released following a stay in the hospital and rehab.  Daugherty continues to recover.
