My name is Anita Minton and I am a candidate for first district magistrate. I’ve lived in Morgantown since my marriage to James Minton. In May, we will celebrate our 41st anniversary. Together we have four children; Milana Dicataldo (husband Gennaro, Bartlesville, Oklahoma), Melanie Leach (husband Scott, Hartford, Kentucky), Daniel Minton (wife Holly (Johnson), of Roundhill), and Leslie West (husband Greg, of Morgantown). County Clerk, Sheriff return excess fees to county; Court approves management contract with Ambulance Board

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, February 26th at the Butler County Courthouse.  All magistrates - Stevie Givens, Johnny Tuck, Chad Tyree, David Whittinghill and Bobby Moore, were in attendance.
The magistrates revised the county personnel policy adding a job description for dispatchers then voted 5-0 to approve the management contract with the Ambulance Board in regards to 911.  The agreement will now be sent to the Ambulance Board for approval. If the contract is approved, dispatchers will become county employees.

Tornado damage in Butler County

On Saturday night, February 24th a tornado hit part of Butler County.  The National Weather Service has confirmed three separate tornadoes in Logan and Butler County. 

According to meteorologist, Landon Hampton one high-end EF2 impacted southern Logan County, two separate EF1's impacted northern Logan County, with one extending its path length into Butler County.
