Truck, Trailer & Boat in Green River

Saturday morning did not turn out to be such a great fishing day for John Coots and James Renfrow.  They had planned to fish in a tournament at Rochester.  Around 6:30 am while putting the boat into the water everything, boat, trailer, and John's 2003 Chevy Truck ended up in the Green River.
James Renfrow, John's son-in-law, was backing the boat into the water and told Deputy Trey Flener he placed the truck in park, but when he put the truck in gear, he had no brakes, and everything went into the water.

Public Meeting Called for Lake Malone Marina Request Developer seeks to operate commercial boat dock; meeting Sept. 22

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 9, 2016) — A request to build and operate a commercial boat dock on Lake Malone in western Kentucky is the subject of a public meeting to be held Sept. 22 at Muhlenberg County South Elementary School in Beechmont. The meeting is set for 7 p.m. Central Time.

State regulations require a public meeting for proposals to build commercial boat docks on buffer areas owned by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. The department has received a request for approval to build a dock with commercial boat slips on Sherwood Point.

Butler County Grand Jury Indictments

The Butler County Grand Jury returned indictments against three individuals on September 7, 2016. Charges include murder, receiving stolen property, assault, and wanton endangerment.

Drugs and Money Seized on Orange Cemetery Road

An ongoing investigation led law enforcement to 1319 Orange Cemetery Road, off Russellville Road on Tuesday night around 10:00 pm.  Drugs, money, a truck and motorcycle were confiscated at the residence.  A Harley motorcycle, a GMC Yukon, over $3,000 cash, two other vehicles and 9.85 grams of methamphetamine were seized along with marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Stolen Firearm found in Morgantown

22-caliber Mossberg Rifle

Morgantown Police arrested a Butler County resident on Sept. 1 for receiving stolen property.

William Brown was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property (firearm) and is currently lodged in the Butler County Jail. The Morgantown Police Department responded to a call at 111 South Teddy Avenue Apartment B7 in regards to a complaint regarding a stolen firearm.

Wreck on Natcher

On Tuesday morning around 7:30 am emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle accident on the northbound lane of the Natcher Parkway around the 22-mile marker. 
A white Chey trucked owned by Reynolds Concrete Company, of Bowling Green, was hauling a concrete pumper when the driver, Bryan Hershel Martin of Brownsville, went off the side of the road.  He overcorrected, and the trailer got sideways pushing the truck off the road.

Fireworks & Ice Cream Benefit Tia Clark family.

Tia Clark & Bryan Blaine. Her children: Andrew & Jordan Dobbs, Lathan & Landon Clark.

 On Friday evening September 2nd, a large crowd gathered together at the Rochester Ball Park to support the Clark family while enjoying a break from the hot weather.  The Tia Clark family lost their home and belongings in a fire on Monday, August 22nd and now their community has come together to help them during this trying time. This fundraising event was a joint effort by the Rochester Ladies League and the Rochester Ballpark Board.

Butler County Field Day

Butler County Outstanding Conservation Cooperators Award for 2016 was presented to Mike and Kathy Porter by Shane Wells, Farm Bureau President.

On Thursday afternoon 160 people were in attendance at Butler County’s Annual Field Day hosted by Shane Wells’ Mockingbird Hill Farms. Wells welcomed everyone to Rochester.  Tracy Cowles, Extension Service, held a painting project at the community building.  Warren Beeler, Governors Office of Ag Policy, addressed those in attendance.
