FRANKFORT, Ky.

With the Corona Virus-Covid-19 pandemic wreaking havoc across the globe, it seems no one is immune from making major changes in their lives both personally and professionally. Beech Tree News is grateful for other businesses in our community that, when facing challenges related to Covid-19, have risen to be a bright spot during a difficult time. Recently, BTN asked many local businesses how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted them.

The Barren River District Health Department has confirmed 154 cases of COVID-19 in the Barren River District, 31 of which have recovered. Our district has five deaths reported from COVID-19. We stand in solidarity with those affected during these difficult times. Please see the breakdown of numbers by county below.

The Barren River District Health Department has confirmed 136 cases of COVID-19 in the Barren River District, 31 of which have recovered. Barren County has six, Butler County has 45, Edmonson County has seven, Hart has one, Logan County has eight, Simpson County has 17, and Warren County has 52. Our district has three deaths reported from COVID-19. We stand in solidarity with those affected during these difficult times. 

On April 9, 2020, Butler County Sheriff's Department (BCSD) was dispatched to 11494 Brownsville Road about a shooting. BCSD Deputy Joe Alford and Morgantown Police Department Officer Jessie Burden responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Brenda Mahaney was lying on the ground.  She stated that Donald Renfrow shot her in the leg.
