OWENSBORO — Butler County pulled away to defeat 3rd Region rival Apollo 61-33 in a girls' high school basketball season opener on Tuesday, Dec. 3. 

The Lady Bears started strong, outscoring Apollo 29-7 in the opening quarter.

OWENSBORO — The Butler County Middle School cheerleading team finished runner-up in the 3rd Region Super Large Division on Sunday, Nov. 17. Teams from across the 3rd Region competed in various divisions.

Case Hooten and Ryder Harbaugh

MORGANTOWN — Butler County runners Ryder Harbaugh and Case Hooten have been named to the KTCCCA Boys' Cross Country Class 2A All-State Team.

The Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association (KTCCCA) honored Harbaugh and Hooten.

LEXINGTON — Butler County finished 26th out of 34 boys' teams in the KHSAA Class 2A State Cross Country Meet at the Kentucky Horse Park on Saturday, Nov. 2. 

Senior Ryder Harbaugh placed 12th out of 260 runners to lead Butler County in the KHSAA Class 2A State Cross Country Meet.

HARTFORD — Returning to the win column, Butler County beat longtime rival Ohio County 21-7 in its season finale on Friday, Nov. 1. 

The win allowed Butler County to halt a nine-game losing skid.
