Bears notch win over Ohio County
HARTFORD — Returning to the win column, Butler County beat longtime rival Ohio County 21-7 in its season finale on Friday, Nov. 1.
The win allowed Butler County to halt a nine-game losing skid.

Butler County claimed its first win in the 2024 high school football season. The Bears exited the 2024 high school football season 1-9.
Butler County scored first and never trailed. The Bears led 21-0 at the conclusion of the third quarter.
Ohio County managed to reach the endzone during the final period to avoid a shutout.

Quarterback Garrett Phelps led Butler County to the win. Through the air, Phelps completed 13 passes for 176 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Phelps rushed nine times for 78 yards and one touchdown.
Maddox Moore rushed six times for 35 yards in Butler County's win.

Aiding the Bears on the ground, Lonnie Phelps took three carries for 12 yards.
Kelton Meredith emerged as Butler County's leading receiver. Meredith hauled in four receptions for 59 yards and one touchdown.
Contributing through the air, Moore, Lonnie Phelps, Trever Deweese and Cainan Vincent were additional productive receivers for the Bears.
Kevin Robins paced Butler County defensively, recording a game-high 21 tackles, including five tackles for losses.

Following Robins, Moore and Meredith posted 10 tackles apiece for the Bears. Delivering a turnover for Butler County, Moore recorded one interception.
After the win over Ohio County, Butler County has turned its attention to the offseason.
