A year after establishing an overall deer harvest record, Kentucky hunters did it again.The 2013-14 deer season in Kentucky ended Jan. 20 with a total harvest of 144,404 animals. That represents a gain of more than 9 percent over the previous record set during the 2012-13 season.

UPDATE:  Tonight's boys' semifinal games in the Touchstone Energy All "A" Classic have cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday night.  Owensboro Catholic will face Whitesville at 5:30 p.m. and Butler County will play McLean County at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The Butler County Middle School boys' basketball team and cheerleaders recognized its 8th grade members last week.  The BCMS Bears defeated Glasgow 42-36 on 8th Grade Night before a packed middle school gym.

Butler County's Zeke Woodcock passed the career 1,000 point mark recently against Breckinridge; he was honored by Coach Calvin Dockery prior the last week's game against Grayson County.

Butler County senior guard Zeke Woodcock hit a shot to put the game into and another one to win it - a three-pointer at the buzzer - to propel his team to a dramatic 59-58 win over visiting Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday night.

Butler's Zack Burden goes up for two of his 31 points.

With a 31-point performance by senior guard Zack Burden, the Butler County Bears remained in firm control of the 12th District on Friday night with a 75-68 home win over Grayson County.  Meanwhile, the Lady Bears dropped to 2-1 in district play, falling 60-44 to the Lady Cougars.
