Second District U.S. Congressman Brett Guthrie visited Morgantown Elementary on Monday to give a presentation to students. MES fifth-graders have been studying the separation of powers in the federal government, so the Congressman helped explain that to students.

The Butler County Spelling Bee, hosted by the Butler County Retired Teachers and Butler County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, for students up to grade 8 was held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014.

The Butler County Grand Jury returned indictments against 31 individuals on February 14, 2014. Charges include arson, attempted murder, kidnapping and drug charges.
