Morgantown Police Department Makes Drug and Burglary Arrests

Drug Arrest- On Wednesday, February 19, 2014, Chief Charles Swiney and Officer Denny Deweese responded to a disturbance complaint at 211 Sawmill Road.  Upon arrival, Officer Deweese discovered Troy D. White, 30, of 72 Graves Road, in the residence.  White was wanted by the Butler County Sheriff’s Department on unrelated charges.  Found in White’s possession were synthetic cannabinoids a.k.a. “Spice”, drug paraphernalia and controlled substances.  White was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 1st, menacing, possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, White was lodged in the Butler County Jail.

Burglary Arrest-On Friday, February 21, 2014, Officer Denny Deweese responded to a burglary complaint at the residence of Lucas Pablo Lopez and Kami Marie Caudillo of 240 Helm Lane Lot 4.  Officer Deweese was given a description of the suspect by witnesses and was able to convey information to Butler County Sheriff Deputy Justin Deweese who was responding to assist.  Deputy Deweese located an individual matching the description of the individual seen by witnesses and Officer Deweese on Woodcock Street.  After stopping and talking to subject, it was discovered he had a hammer and items in his possession belonging to Lopez.  Witnesses had informed Officer Deweese that the subject seen breaking into the residence had a hammer in his possession.  Jarrod Phelps, 25, of 3030 Brownsville Road, was arrested, charged with Public Intoxication, Burglary 2nd, and Possession of Burglary Tools and lodged in the Butler County Jail.
