MORGANTOWN – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) invites minority farmers and ranchers in Butler County and across the nation to voluntarily join the USDA Minority Farm Register to receive information and opportunities from USDA agencies.

On Tuesday, February 14th a wedding ceremony took place at Morgantown Care and Rehab between two residents. Harvey Willis (H.W.) McKinney, 79 from Morgantown, and Mary Lou Abbott, 80 also from Morgantown were set to move down the aisle and be married with the ceremony beginning at 2PM.

The Butler County High School Business Department Advisory Council met on February 8th at noon with a luncheon to discuss current issues facing the business workplace/workers. Members of the council are Robin Adcock, Lori Cardwell, Gina Givens, and Laura Lynch.

The Little Muddy RD Club met January 16th, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. There were 12 people present. The meeting began with Maggie Drake leading the club in the pledge to the American flag. Gabe Keen gave the blessing for the meal.

Financial aid loans and often grants are available to make going back to college affordable. State grant funding is based on a first-come, first-serve basis and may be gone as soon as the middle of February.

Members of Bethel, Mt. Olivet and Pleasant Grove churches participated in the Pinewood Derby on January 28. Martine Brown of Mt. Olivet was the overall winner.
