The 6th Annual Southern Kentucky Star Search, sponsored by Morgantown Bank & Trust and Sam 100.7 FM, was held last night at the Green River Catfish Festival. Ten finalists performed for the crowd and judges on the basketball court for their chance to be crowned the winner.

On Saturday, July 28 Butler County Chapter NSDAR will hold a Genealogy Workshop at the Butler County Public library meeting room from 10:00-? After the morning session there will be a break for lunch at which time Butler County Chapter ladies will provide bag lunches for $2.00 dessert included.
The Catfish Festival Beauty Pageants started on Thursday night with the two through seven year olds. Over 60 girls competed for crowns and trophies.
With the celebration of Independence Day, Uncle Sam (Woody Allen) made a special visit to Morgantown Care and Rehab.
