Jordan Tyree recently graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice/Police Studies. Throughout college, Jordan worked with EKU Adventure Programs, leading hiking, climbing, and kayaking trips throughout the Red River Gorge and Cumberland Falls

On Tuesday, June 12 the First Baptist WMU members held their monthly meeting on Barren River Lake on the houseboat of Larry and Monical Davis. 15 members and two guests had a wonderful evening with perfect weather for watching the sunset on the lake.

Green River NSDAR, together with Kentucky Chautauqua, will present Henry Clay: Kentucky’s Great Statesman at the home of Denzil & Christine Coleman June 18, 6:00 P.M.

There is nothing better than an early morning country drive to get the blood flowing. Dog Creek Rd. on the north side of Butler County sure has some beautiful scenery. This barn was definitely a keeper!!

The Butler County Retired Teachers (BCRT) held their regular luncheon on Monday, June 11th and honored one of their own. Mrs. Edith Gary has been named Butler County, Third District, and Kentucky Retired Teachers Association 2012 Volunteer of the Year.

Aberdeen Baptist Church conducted their anuual Vacation Bible School on June 4-8th. The school was conducted each day from 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. with lunch served. There was an enrollment of 346 and an average attendance of 260 with sixteen professions of faith. Bro. Roger W.
