Andy Sullivan: Against the Grain

This week we touch on another CBS Sunday Morning gem.  Behind every Marvel movie lies a multiverse of comic books.  Since the 1960’s, a tale has been building.  A single, connective narrative involving thousands of characters and millions of pages of comic books.  “Stories that happened in 1961-62 have consequences in comics that are coming out this week”.  Douglas Wolk is a writer and Marvel expert who explains Marvel might be the longest-running and most voluminous story told in human history.

Cheryl Hughes: Spider Leg

My husband Garey and I live by two separate and very personalized mantras.  His is “Just because you’re born poor, doesn’t mean you have to die poor.”  Mine is “Just because you’re born poor, doesn’t mean you have to live poor.”  And never the twain shall meet.  It took something as insignificant as a spider leg to bring that resounding truth home to me.  Let me explain.

Jarrod Jacobs: "Tell It Like It Is"

I am sure we are familiar with this term. Sometimes, when people talk, they are vague. Some try to spare our feelings about certain issues and will not speak in a plain way. Thus, we may tell folks to “tell it like it is” and stop trying to spare our feelings. It is necessary that we say things in a straightforward and understandable way, especially when souls are at stake.

Green Valley Vision...

The song so beautifully reminds us in the Chorus:  Jesus is the Answer for the world today. Above Him there’s no other. Jesus is the way. Repeat.”  Are you finding that for all your concerns, whether great or small, God’s Son supplies all the answers and solutions?  Here’s the key. Even though Jesus died for all of the world’s sins (1 John 2:1-2), if we don’t obey Him it is unacceptable to God  and we will give up our eternal salvation.

Andrew McNeill: Higher gas taxes not needed for unprecedented investment in Kentucky’s highways

The General Assembly wrapped up the 2022 session with two long days and nights of veto overrides and last-minute legislating, adjourning one day before the constitutionally mandated April 15 deadline.

There was a noticeable energy in both chambers during those closing hours, with members of the Republican super-majorities appearing invigorated by their accomplishments. Even so, they had to be ready to go home and recharge. The May primary is just around the corner. Incumbents will want to take a “victory lap” out on the campaign trail.
