Sunday August 1, Monticello celebrated 216 years.

The development of agricultural ecosystem credit markets, specifically carbon markets, is a hot topic in the popular press and Washington, DC.  The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that 10% of carbon dioxide, a primary greenhouse gas, is emitted by the agricultural sector.  While this is relatively a small portion of overall carbon dioxide emissions by the economic sector, agriculture has received a lot of attention in reducing overall GHG emissions recently.

Homecoming - Sunday, August 1st, starting at 10:30 AM; gospel singing with Grand Harmony and music by Mackenzie Bell followed by worship service, lunch provided by the church and fellowship. 

Revival - Monday, August 2nd thru Wednesday, August 4th with Brother Gary Taylor, nightly at 7:00 PM.

Last Friday night, the City of Rochester entertained the community with an impressive fireworks display at dusk. Mayor Martha Roe thanked their Volunteer Fire Department for safely setting off the fireworks.

Warm weather brings out the renovators in many of us. New sidewalks, a new deck or porch, new windows, even an addition to the house often happen while the weather is warm and dry. The BCHS Class of 1971 will have their 50th Class Reunion on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Salem Baptist Church Community Room located at 6407 Logansport Road .

The Owen/Daniel Daugherty Reunion will be held at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Butler County with singing and fellowship on Friday night August 6 from 6:00-8:00 PM and the main event including a "Pot-Luck Meal" will be Saturday, August 7 beginning at 9:30 AM.  Descendants, family, and friends are invited.

The family of Gerald Coomes would like to thank each and everyone for the food, flowers, cards and all the kind expressions of sympathy shown to our family following his passing.

Morgantown Trail Town and the City of Morgantown sponsored this event last Saturday; kayakers could unload at the Woodbury boat ramp and take their vehicles to the Morgantown boat ramp next to the old fairgrounds. The City's MOGO Bus was waiting take them back to Woodbury.

The Miss, Miss Teen and Miss Pre-Teen Butler County Fair pageants were held on Saturday night at Morgantown Community Church.  The winners included:
