Week 4: From the sidelines...

Butler County Football traveled to Grayson County on Friday night.  Several fans made the trip to support the Bears.  The Cougars defeated the Bears but we got a few shots from the sidelines... Enjoy!

Butler County High School NJROTC: 2014 Paducah Tilghman Field Meet

On the morning of Saturday, September 13th, 43 cadets from the BCHS NJROTC program went to the 2014 Paducah Tilghman meet. At this meet, ten surrounding JROTC programs came to compete in a variety of sports ranging from basketball shootout to 1 mile relay races. Some of the schools present were Owensboro, Daviess, Muhlenberg, Graves, Paducah, Henderson, and Mclean.  The event started with all outdoor sports which consisted of the 50 meter dash, 1 mile relay, football relay, ski board race, and silly games.

Bears, Cougars set to tangle at Leitchfield

Familiar rivals will take to the field tomorrow night as the Butler County Bears will travel to Leitchfield to face the Grayson County Cougars on homecoming night.  The Bears (2-1) are coming off a 48-0 win against Breckinridge last week.  Meanwhile, the Cougars (3-1) squeaked out a 27-26 win against Daviess County. 

Butler County coach Ryan Emmick is expecting a solid Grayson County team on Friday night.

Bears Impressive in Homecoming Victory

The Breckinridge County Tigers got the unfortunate task of facing the Bears, who were playing their home-opener on homecoming night. The Tigers were smacked around by the mighty Bears with the running clock intact for most of the second half. The final score ended, 48-0.

Week 3: From the sidelines...

Butler County Bears hosted Breckinridge County in the first home game of the season.  There was plently of activity on the sidelines with homecoming, the band, cheerleaders, coaches, players, fans, and children.  Enjoy....

Bears, Tigers prep for Friday Night Lights in BCHS Homecoming game

Butler County (1-1) will look to get back in the winning column on Friday night when the Fighting Tigers of Breckinridge County (0-3) make the long, winding trek to Morgantown.  Breck is off to a tough start with lopsided losses to Meade County (41-0), McLean County (42-10) and Adair County (52-0).  The Bears defeated Logan County 41-0 in its first game.  Following a bye during week two, Butler dropped a 35-6 decision to Russellville last week.

Panthers pull away in second half over Bears, win 35-6

The Butler County Bears, who easily dismantled the Logan County Cougars in the opening week of high school football, traveled to the other side of Russellville to take on the black and gold, which were also undefeated with wins over Trigg County and Ft. Campbell.
The Bears had a bye week to prepare for Coach John Myers’ Panthers and the game plan was well intact. Coach Emmick and staff shifted away from the hurry-up offense for a more methodical approach, the ground and pound.

BCHS Volleyball

The Butler County High School Volleyball team’s season is underway under the direction of head coach Steve McLean and assistant coach Kim Grubb.  Both coaches are new to the volleyball coaching scene, but have been, and are involved in several other sports.  The team consists of 21 players: 1 senior, 5 juniors, 8 sophomores, 4 freshmen, 2 eighth graders, and 1 7th grader.  There is a lot of new, young talent on the team.
