Wreck on Natcher

On Tuesday morning around 7:30 am emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle accident on the northbound lane of the Natcher Parkway around the 22-mile marker. 
A white Chey trucked owned by Reynolds Concrete Company, of Bowling Green, was hauling a concrete pumper when the driver, Bryan Hershel Martin of Brownsville, went off the side of the road.  He overcorrected, and the trailer got sideways pushing the truck off the road.

Fireworks & Ice Cream Benefit Tia Clark family.

Tia Clark & Bryan Blaine. Her children: Andrew & Jordan Dobbs, Lathan & Landon Clark.

 On Friday evening September 2nd, a large crowd gathered together at the Rochester Ball Park to support the Clark family while enjoying a break from the hot weather.  The Tia Clark family lost their home and belongings in a fire on Monday, August 22nd and now their community has come together to help them during this trying time. This fundraising event was a joint effort by the Rochester Ladies League and the Rochester Ballpark Board.

Butler County Field Day

Butler County Outstanding Conservation Cooperators Award for 2016 was presented to Mike and Kathy Porter by Shane Wells, Farm Bureau President.

On Thursday afternoon 160 people were in attendance at Butler County’s Annual Field Day hosted by Shane Wells’ Mockingbird Hill Farms. Wells welcomed everyone to Rochester.  Tracy Cowles, Extension Service, held a painting project at the community building.  Warren Beeler, Governors Office of Ag Policy, addressed those in attendance.

KSP Looking For Escaped Inmate

Bowling Green, KY (September 2, 2016)- Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green received a call today at approx. 12:55 pm advising that an inmate of the Warren County Regional Jail had walked away from a work detail at Basil Griffin Park in Warren County.
 
Troopers responded to the area and attempted to locate him but was unsuccessful.  The escapee is 34 year old Darryl A. Taylor who is described as a black male, 6'00" tall, 195 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, but currently has a shaved head.  He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

Joe Plunk named Chief District Engineer for District 3

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (September 2, 2016) – Joe Plunk was named Chief District Engineer (CDE) for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 3 office in Bowling Green today. Plunk was named acting CDE in May.

Butler County reaches 50% on the Organ Donor Registry

Butler County's Circuit Court Clerk's office has been working tirelessly to educate their community about organ donation.  Through community outreach and asking every person who renews their driver's license if they would like to be a registered organ donor, they have reached the national goal of 50% of their total population on the registry!

MPD Needs Your Help

The Morgantown Police Department has issued a request for the public's help solving a break-in that took place on August 25th. Two handguns were stolen from True Value Hardware Store located at 123 W. G.L. Smith Street, in Morgantown. 
Chief Giles Taylor said officers are looking for a suspect and possibly an accomplice.  According to Taylor, the suspect was wearing a mask and appears to suffer from a limp in his right leg.
Anyone with any information, in this case, is asked to contact the Morgantown Police Department by phone at 270-526-2040.

SKyPAC Compensated Space Initiative

Bowling Green, KY  --- (Bowling Green, KY (August 18, 2016) – The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC) has selected the recipients of the 2016-2017 SKyPAC Compensated Space Initiative. This SKyPAC initiative allows four (4) K-12 schools the opportunity to utilize the 1,743-seat SKyPAC performance hall, Wedge Studio Theater, or 780-seat Capitol Arts Center performance hall to showcase their schools choice performance for the school year.

Whitfield Announces Decision to Leave Office In September

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01) has notified Governor Matt Bevin and House Speaker Paul Ryan that he will resign as First District Congressman on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at 6 P.M.

A copy of the letter to Governor Bevin is attached hereto.

Congressman Whitfield also stated he would announce his future plans within the next 30 days.
