SKyPAC Compensated Space Initiative

Bowling Green, KY  --- (Bowling Green, KY (August 18, 2016) – The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC) has selected the recipients of the 2016-2017 SKyPAC Compensated Space Initiative. This SKyPAC initiative allows four (4) K-12 schools the opportunity to utilize the 1,743-seat SKyPAC performance hall, Wedge Studio Theater, or 780-seat Capitol Arts Center performance hall to showcase their schools choice performance for the school year.
After thorough review of the submitted applications SKyPAC is excited to announce the following schools selected to participate for the 2016-2017 school year: Alvaton Elementary School, Barren County Middle School, Bowling Green High School, and Morgantown Elementary School.
Applicant requests include Alvaton’s theatrical production of Aristocats; Barren County Middle School will feature a musical production comprised of the schools Strings, Choir and Band programs; Bowling Green High School will perform Mozart’s Requiem with combined choirs, a full orchestra and soloists (all music students in the school will be represented); and Morgantown Elementary will showcase the popular Disney classic Beauty and the Beast Kids.

“It is such an honor and privilege to be one of the few SKyPAC Compensated Space recipients,” Music Specialist, Ryan Himes of Morgantown Elementary school said.  “The use of SKyPAC and their lighting, sound, and technical abilities will give these students an experience like they have never seen before. Our Music and Arts Program in Butler County is phenomenal and this opportunity will only serve as a feeder program into Butler County Middle and High Schools. We cannot wait to come to SKyPAC in April and will forever be grateful.”
