Markets north of the Green River coming through pandemic

Four markets/country grocery stores in north Butler County have survived the pandemic and they appreciate everyone who has helped them get through these difficult times.

Van Buren’s Market was opened in November of 2018 and is located where the Don Lindsey’s store operated for almost sixty years on Caneyville Road in the heart of the Fifth District area of north Butler County. Josh and Chelsea Gilpin own and operate the business, which is well-known for their Amish donuts (they are a meal!) made fresh Saturday morning.  They are typically sold out by noon. The deli has a good selection of meats and cheeses.  Just last week they started serving Chaney's Ice Cream.  You can purchase local raised beef and pork and they have local vegetables in season. Starting Friday, May 22,  there will be limited seating of approximately six people because of social distancing  guidelines. Gas and diesel are available. Their hours are:  Monday--Saturday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 12:30 to 5 p.m.

Hack’s Crossroad Market is managed by Tracy Hack and Mike Baker and is located at the intersection of KY 79/70.  They have deli meats but are not using the soft ice cream machine because of concerns of having multiple people using it. They are not planning on opening any inside seating at this time. You can purchase gas, diesel and REC-90 gas.
