A Leonard Oak man is behind bars today following a domestic dispute and brief standoff with police on Sunday evening. Bryan S. Proctor, 30, was arrested, taken to the hospital for treatment, and returned to the Butler County Jail.
Local firemen from multiple departments responded to and early morning fire in the Sugar Grove area of Butler County. The house, located at 4359 Sugar Grove Road, was destroyed in the blaze. Nobody was in the home at the time of the fire and no fire-related injuries were reported.
Butler County Middle School Principal Jeff Jennings has been named the new principal at North Butler Elementary School. Jennings will replace long-time principal Elaine Daugherty, who announced her retirement at the end of the 2011-12 school year.

One man is behind bars after allegedly stealing and selling the car of a Morgantown Care and Rehab resident. David Allen Bowlds has been lodged in the Butler County Jail and is facing felony theft by unlawful taking charges.

Members of the Butler County-Morgantown Chamber of Commerce gathered at Charley Biggs' this afternoon for their ribbon-cutting ceremony. Charley Biggs' has been serving up chicken, desserts and smoked foods since opening up in late May. The restaurant is owned by James and Jean Beattie.
