Truck & Motorcycle Collision Sends One To Vandy

A Butler County man is recovering in Vanderbilt after an accident on Tuesday involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Ron Ingram, of Morgantown was traveling north on Caneyville Road at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday riding a Suzuki motorcycle when he slowed to turn into a driveway near Northlan Circle. According to witnesses Ingram slowed, but Anthony Mudd, 32, of Caneyville failed to see Ingram preparing to turn. Mudd, driving a Ford F250 Crew Cab pickup truck struck Ingram from behind, ran over him, and then dragged him more than 100 feet. Mudd told authorities he attempted to stop, but the truck’s antilock brakes caused the truck to slide and run over Ingram.

Butler County EMS crews arrived at the scene to find Ingram, who is a longtime driver and EMT for Butler County EMS, suffering from a variety of injuries. Ingram was briefly trapped beneath his motorcycle, which was lodged beneath Mudd’s pickup. He was airlifted  by PHI Air Medical to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where he is listed in serious but stable condition, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Responding to the scene were Deputy Joe Alford from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Butler County EMS, PHI Air Medical  BC Rescue Squad, Butler County Fire Departments, and several  bystanders.
