Dionne Merritt and Allen Meredith will be joining four incumbents - Sharon Johnson (Phelps), Terrell House, Russell Givens, and Gary Southerland - as members of a new Morgantown City Council that will take office in January. Current council member Rick Scott did not seek reelection.

The 2013 Calendar Girl/Centerfold Guy contest was held on Saturday night. Senior Sierra Fields was crowned Calendar Girl and will grace the cover of the calendar. She is the daughter of Greg and Michelle Fields of Morgantown.
