The Ladies Axuiliary to the VFW Post named Geoffrey Henderson Veteran of the Year on Friday night at the Post. Geoffrey Henderson was born the second son of George and Anna Henderson in Welland, Ontario, Canada near the Erie Canal.

WKU honored 29 students from six south central Kentucky high schools for their academic achievements. This year’s group has an average ACT composite score of 28.89 and grade-point average of 3.95 and included 20 Kentucky Governor’s Scholars.

A Butler County middle-schooler is safe after a scary incident in the Brooklyn community on Thursday afternoon. At approximately 3:30 on Thursday the juvenile—name withheld by request—got off the school bus at her home in the Brooklyn community.

The Butler County Rural Development held its 55th annual meeting Saturday, November 3, at the Eva Hawes Ag Expo and Community Building. Big Bend, Little Muddy, Provo and Reedyville were represented at the meeting. The annual meeting is the highlight of the association’s year.
