The Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday evening, October 13th, 2014 at the Butler County Courthouse. Magistrate David Whittinghill was absent from the meeting.

The first Butler County Genealogical Homecoming Event was held on Saturday at the Green River Museum in Woodbury, Kentucky.  According to Jessica Moon, one of the organizers, the event all started with a couple of people on a facebook page who wanted to make a gathering so everyone could meet.

The Boys & Girls Club of Butler County held their Annual Appreciation Dinner on Saturday, October 11th at the Butler County Educational Complex.  Board president James Runion welcomed everyone to the dinner, State Representative C.B.

On September 30, 2014 the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service in reference to a burglary that took place in the 100 block of Church Street in Rockport, Kentucky. The victim stated handguns, rifles, shotguns, and jewelry were taken from the residence.

 Arrah Wanna was recognized at the Annual Butler County Homemaker dinner/meeting. She received a beautiful music box for being the oldest member. It pays to be a homemaker and almost 96 years old!

The Morgantown City Council rescinded their approval of the Blighted and Nuisance ordinance at Thursday night’s regular meeting.  The Council also heard from Mayor Keown about Trail Town designation and from the Butler County Little League about their upcoming intermediate league.
