Special Election set for January 26th

Roger Givens, Cody Donaldson and Josh Hampton turns petition in to Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson

The petition for a local option election, “Are you in favor of the sale of alcoholic beverages in Butler Count, KY?" was filed in the Butler County Clerk office on November 6, 2015. According to Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson the total number of signatures on the petition was 1893. The number of signatures needed was 1037. Johnson verified 1487 signatures.
The election was set by the Butler County Fiscal Court for January 26, 2016. The last day to register to vote is December 28, 2015. Absentee voting will start at the County Clerk's office on January 6, 2016. The last day to receive applications for absentee is January 19, 2016 at 4:00pm.
According to Johnson some signatures were duplicated, unreadable, date of birth could not be verified,  failed to provide a valid address (P O Boxes are not accepted), were not registered voters, signed the petition prior to registering to vote, or not residents of Butler County.  Attached is a copy of the petition submitted to the Butler County Clerk’s office. The black mark in front of the name means the clerk's office could not verify the information.

The petition is a matter of public record.
