An on-duty Butler County school bus driver was arrested on Friday afternoon and charged with DUI. Sandra Ford (Blair), 55, is charged with multiple counts following her arrest by Butler County Sheriff Scottie Ward.

Jamie Ward of Morgantown won $100 from Super Wash. Johnny Dalton presented her the check. Super Wash has been in Morgantown for over eight years. Ward won the Holiday Promotion that ran from November thru January.

Four Butler County High School students have been recommended by faculty/staff members for February student of the month honors based on attendance, promptness to class, participation in class, grades or attitude. These students are Alexis Keown, Cayli Bevil, Amanda Fleming and Noah Gary.

Although only minor damage was reported in the county from the severe weather systems that moved through the area last week, some towns in Kentucky were not so lucky.
As Kentuckians begin cleaning up after the storms that ripped through the Commonwealth on Friday, officials urge those who have suffered property damage to photograph the damage, save any repair receipts and report damages to their local county emergency director and insurance provider.

The Butler County Fiscal Court will once again be participating in the $100 Mile Litter Pickup program. This is for non-profit organizations only. Organizations may sign up through the end of March, 2012. Roads will be issued in April.

Firefighters from two counties responded to a brush fire this afternoon in the 1500 block of Huntsville-Silver City Rd on the old Newell Givens property. A small brush fire started by Vernon Hardison, step-son of Givens, got out of control and spread quickly.

Althought not as severe as in other parts of Kentucky, a series of storms rolled through Butler County and southcentral Kentucky on Friday causing some damage. There was sufficient storm damage in the Quality area of Butler County on Friday. The roof was ripped off a barn on Hwy.
