The Butler County Extension Office hosted a country ham breakfast to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Cooperative Extension Office. Statewide, clubs were finding different celebrating the event in their local communities.

A Butler County man convicted of sexual abuse in 2011 has been court-ordered to pay his victim more than $1.8 million dollars.
U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Russell, on Tuesday, ordered Jeffrey Lawan Renfrow to pay $1,896,800 in damages to the victim.

The Butler County EMS hosted an open house on Thursday, October 16, at their new location on KY 70/ Rochester Road in Morgantown. “We are very excited about the new facility,” said Brian McKinney, EMS Director. "We have the room we need for training and to accommodate our crews.”

Thursday night October 16 I saw comedian Ron White perform at SKYPAC. Ron’s opening act was comedian Alex Reymundo. Alex has had numerous comedy specials on Showtime and Comedy Central. He took part in Ron White’s Salute to the Troops and has toured with Ron for years.

WKU honored 44 students from six high schools in five southcentral Kentucky counties for their academic achievements.
This year’s group has an average ACT composite score of 27.96 and grade-point average of 3.93 and included 21 Kentucky Governor’s Scholars.
