The Butler County Grand Jury returned indictments against 28 individuals on December 26, 2018. Charges include sexual abuse, drugs, assault, criminal possession of forged instrument and drugs. All arraignments are set for January 8, 2019, at 10:00 am.

Leanna Cantrell, 41, of Morgantown, is charged with second-degree manslaughter in the drowning death of her son, after allegedly leaving him unsupervised.

Clark Andrew Cantrell, age 4, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at his home in the Logansport Community.

Butler County Judge-Executive David Fields presided over his final fiscal court meeting on Thursday, December 27, at the Butler County Courthouse.  Judge-elect Tim Flener will be sworn in on January 2, 2019 and will officially assume office on January 7.

On December 27th at approximately 11:28 officers of the Morgantown Police Department, along with a Butler County Sheriff's Deputy, arrived at 805 Barlow Street in an attempt to locate a subject inside. Officers made contact with Jarod M. Phelps, age 29, of Morgantown, Kentucky and Alicia M.
