FISCAL COURT: Fields presides over final meeting; court approves several items

Butler County Judge-Executive David Fields presided over his final fiscal court meeting on Thursday, December 27, at the Butler County Courthouse.  Judge-elect Tim Flener will be sworn in on January 2, 2019 and will officially assume office on January 7. 

Tim Gilliam, a field representative from Senator Mitch McConnell's office, presented Judge Fields with a framed tribute that was in the Congressional record to recognize his 12 years in office.
"Judge Fields has been a friend to Senator McConnell during his 12 years in office," said Gilliam.

Butler County Treasurer Becky Jacobs gave the monthly settlement report per fund. Ending balance as of December 27, 2018:
General - $1,951,856.19
Road- $864,457.28

LGEA- $8,554.03

Rochester Ferry- $292,522.18
Reeds Ferry- $242.060.84
E-911- $18,962.56
Total- $3,424,844.32

The court approved the following:

  • First reading in accepting and adopting Carman Pharis Road into the Butler County Road Department maintenance
  • Transfer $25,000 from General Fund to Jail Fund
  • Transfer $20,000 from General Fund to E-911
  • Bills and transfer
  • Sponsor the ATVG Spring Conference meal  up to $1,000 by Green River Caterers
  • Accepted Susan Meredith's statement of retirement effective January 31, 2019
  • Advertise for applications for Butler County Animal Shelter Director to be reviewed on January 14, 2019, at 2:00 pm
  • Payment of $497.15 to 4th District Fire Department for settlement from VFIS Insurance for wind and water damage
  • Transfer $40,000 from General Fund to Jail Fund
  • Payment to BGWC Humane Society for $500 for spay/neuter vouchers
  • Updated bond list for Butler County Officials
  • Removal of David Fields and add Tim Flener on all signature cards at Morgantown Bank & Trust and credit cards
  • Butler County Clerk's 2018 budget amendment
  • Butler County Sheriff's 2018 budget amendment
