Eighteen FCCLA members met after school on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 to begin making “Beading to Beat Autism” bracelets. This project was started by 14 year old Michala Riggle. Her mission is to raise $300,000.00 to build a world-class autism research and treatment center.

Lindsey LaRay Porter is graduating on December 17 from Western Kentucky University with honors. Lindsey will have a bachelor's degree in Social Work and a minor in Criminology. She is the daughter of Donna Porter Flener and the late Danny Porter and the granddaughter of Berthlene Flener.

Mrs. Simmons and her 1st grade class at Morgantown Elementary School spread Christmas cheer to the community.  The class walked to town and sang Christmas Carols at the Butler County Board of Education, PBI Bank, and WRECC.  The class sang songs in German and English.

Sunday the kids at Monticello Baptist Church performed a Christmas cantata complete with songs and speaking parts.  Joy Wells and Nathan Johnson worked with the kids for weeks.  Everyone in the congregation enjoyed the kids' performance.
