We know you love your dog.  Matter of fact, he’s probably another member of the family!  Here’s a great opportunity for the whole family, including the 4-legged ones, to come together and attend the 2013 4-H Dog Camp.

WASHINGTON, February 8, 2013- Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today reminded Hispanic and women farmers and ranchers who allege discrimination by the USDA in past decades that there are 45 days remaining in the filing period closing March 25, 2013.

Lexington, Feb. 4, 2013—The marketing assistance loan (MAL) and loan deficiency payment (LDP) provisions authorized in the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 (the 2008 FarmBill) have been extended for the 2013 crop year with the passage of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 22, 2013—The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds producers that the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 extended the authorization of the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (the 2008 Farm Bill) for many Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC)commodity, disaster, and conservation programs through 2013. FSA administers these programs.

Microloans up to $35,000 aim to assist small farmers, veterans, and disadvantaged producers

Farmers and others interested in agriculture have the opportunity to participate in the “Motivating and Educating Agriculture Leaders” program.  This leadership program has been developed by local extension agents to help people develop their skills in media relations, public relations, working with elected officials, issues management, and general leadership.

Unfortunately, prescription drug abuse has become all too common in our society. We see instances of it every day in the media, in our communities and in our extended family and friends. It’s extremely troubling that prescription drug abuse is not only an adult problem, but a youth problem as well.
