Agriculture Leadership Program Offered for Butler County

Greg Drake II, County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources

Farmers and others interested in agriculture have the opportunity to participate in the “Motivating and Educating Agriculture Leaders” program.  This leadership program has been developed by local extension agents to help people develop their skills in media relations, public relations, working with elected officials, issues management, and general leadership.

The program is divided into 10 sessions beginning in January 2013.  All the sessions are 1 day and will be held at the Warren County Extension Office.  There is a $100 registration fee to participate.  Butler County has 6 slots available.  This is the second round of the MEAL program.

Our first group of graduates have done exceptional work in leading agriculture forward in our area and being an advocate for our industry.  Brochures with additional information about the MEAL Program and applications are available at the Extension Office.  The program will be beneficial for all members of the agriculture community.

For more information, contact the Butler County Extension Office at 112 E GL Smith Street, Morgantown, or call 270-526-3767.

Educational programs of the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service serve all people regardless of race, color, age, sex, religion, disability, or national origin.
