Jarrod Jacobs: With Christ

The phrase “with Christ” is found nine times in the Bible. We must study this phrase because it shows a fellowship that we can enjoy with our Lord. Let us look at some ways we can be “with Christ.”

            An old song I grew up singing had the above title. In every verse of the song, that question is asked. Indeed, there’s no one else who loves us as Christ does. There’s no one else who’s interested in saving us from sin. There’s no one else who cares for us, wanting us to cast all of our care upon Him (I Pet. 5:8). Where could I go but to the Lord?

EMPTY SPOT- This particular column I started last week but I had to put it aside for just a little while, so I could get my thoughts a little more coherent and convey the kind of message I really wanted to leave behind. For really the first time, I have been experiencing a bit of writers block that has gone on for more than just a brief period of time. Some of that, I'm sure is a result of the chemo drugs I have been on for a few months now and also probably from the anxiety and struggle that goes along with the illness that makes those drugs necessary in the first place.

The last Farmer’s Market of the 2019 season is coming September 21st from 8 AM to 12 PM at the Ross-Melton Pavilion at the Charles Black City Park. While you are there shopping for fresh and local fall produce, try out a fall favorite—winter squash. Winter squashes are nutritious, easy to store, and delicious! Varieties of winter squash include acorn squash, butternut squash, spaghetti squash, and even pumpkins.
