Silent Night, Holy Night

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host its annual "Silent Night, Holy Night" over the next few weeks.  The event will feature over 400 Nativities and will be held at the church, which is located on Meadowlark Drive off Logansport Road (Hwy. 403) in Morgantown.  Those attending are invited to "feel the spirit of Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ."

Morgantown Elementary Santa Letters

Morgantown Elementary students have been writing letters to Santa.  Beech Tree News is giving a little extra help to Santa and his helpers.  We are still waiting for some letters to arrive.  Enjoy!

Warren RECC Holiday Open House

Dakota Shutt and Greg Weathers

Warren RECC held their Holiday Open House at the local office. Refreshments were served including Cranberry Apple Cider Punch, Toffee dip and apples, Easy Cake Mix and Cool Whip Cookies, and Hot Buttered Sweet Chex Mix. 

Visitors received a goody bag including the annual cook book, a calendar, measuring spoons and other kitchen items.

Girl Scouts tour Wlbq Radio Station

Girl Scout Troop 1435 visited the WLBQ Radio Station and Beech Tree News Office recently. Afternoon DJ Kathy Thomason gave the group a tour of the station and explained how the station works.

We were proud to welcome Ellie McIntosh, Jenna Brooks, Keegan Forbes, Destiney Edmonds, Mattie Clark, Jaylin Thomas, Kacey Dalton, Madison Ward, Savannah Coin, Nevada Kirby, and leaders Amber McIntosh and Lesile Edmonds.

8th Annual Festival of Trees

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The Butler County Chapter NSDAR has been working for over a month to ready the Friendly Furniture building into a winter wonderland with an estimated 50 decorated trees or wreaths. Local businesses, families and civic organizations have contributed to this year’s event.

2015 Butler County Chapter NSDAR Home Tour

 Cody and Deneatra Henderson's home.

The holiday season is upon us and the Butler County Chapter NSDAR is busy planning their annual events. One that has been going on for many years is the DAR Christmas Home Tour. The tour will be on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm with a charge of $2.00 per home, money collected at each home goes toward the chapter scholarship, veterans projects or other activities the chapter hosts. Please take the time to tour each of the homes on December 6th as well as the 8th annual Festival of Trees which will be located this year in the Friendly Furniture building.

Veterans' Day at Morgantown Elementary

Leader in Me Student Program Directors Lydia Brown, Alex Bratcher, Case Hooten, and Evan Coley  led the school to honor veterans on this special day

Morgantown Elementary K-3 students salute Veterans:  The colors were presented by the BCHS NJROTC.  Mr. Jason Skaggs sang the National Anthem. 

The MES Kindergarten classes, third grade classes and students from Mrs. Sitz’s class all honored veterans with a song or a reading.
