 2012 State Qualifiers

To conclude the Butler County Cross-Country season, a banquet was held on Sunday, December 30th at Butler County High School to honor this years' athletes.

The Bears Classic 3-on-3 Basketball tournament will be held on Saturday, January 26th at the Morgantown Elementary School Gym. Teams must be registered by 9:15 and the tourney begins at 10 o’clock. The entry fee is $30 per team and all proceeds go to help the Butler County Little League.

This photo shows some of the new 2,497-acre Veterans Memorial Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Scott County. Acquisition of this property along with the 2,488 Big Rivers WMA in Union County and 746-acre Griffith Woods WMA in Harrison County are some of the highlights of 2012 for Kentucky outdoors enthusiasts. Hunters already set the deer harvest record this season, took a new state record black bear and have two new public fishing access areas on the Cumberland River that offer world class trout fishing.

 It was a year for deer and bear season records, expanded public hunting opportunities and improved access to Kentucky’s premier trout stream.Here’s a look back at a few of the top stories from 2012:

A Butler County boys' basketball team battling illness dropped three games last week in its first holiday tournament - the Danny Annis Memorial Eagle Classic hosted by Ohio County High School.
